ResponsibilitiesAdvanced LPN - PRN

St. Mary's - Nebraska City, NE

We are seeking an Advanced LPN to join our team in Nebraska City, NE. As an Advanced LPN, you will perform patient care following established clinic workflows, including admission interviews, accurate documentation, and timely patient flow.

You will accompany the physician into the exam room or be connected remotely by audio for the patient visit, documenting in the electronic medical record (EMR) all aspects of care, including chief complaint (CC), history of presenting illness (HPI), physician exam (PE), and patient plan as directed by the physician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops an understanding of physician practice patterns and key terms used by the physician to ensure efficient and accurate real-time documentation of patient visits.
  • Triage patient care to ensure priority is provided to patients in emergency situations.
  • Prepares rooms for daily patient care, responsible for sterilization, restocks instruments, cleans and resets rooms between patients, orders medications and supplies, and helps orient new employees to the clinic.
  • Assists healthcare providers with exams, treatments, procedures, and testing as directed.
  • Performs phlebotomy lab procedures and communicates results to the patient as ordered by the provider.
  • Notifies patients of lab and diagnostic test results under the direct supervision of the healthcare provider.
  • Ensures appropriate consent are obtained prior to the above.
  • Provides patient and family education pertaining to healthcare management, disease process, treatment, tests, medication, and follow-up under direct supervision of the healthcare provider.
  • Maintains and updates patient education materials and consent forms.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse License from the state licensing board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS).

Preferred:

  • 1 year related experience in a clinic, specialty clinic, or acute hospital setting.
