At Children's Hospital & Medical Center, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. As a Private Duty LPN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the comfort of our patients' homes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver nursing care based on the Physician Plan of Treatment and nursing care plan, communicating changes to the RN and other relevant parties as needed.
  • Perform and carry out cares and treatments according to physician orders, company policies, and procedures under the direction of the RN.
  • Monitor and document response to pain, cares, treatments, and medications, evaluating outcomes of care provided and adjusting the care process as necessary.
  • Implement nursing actions as directed by the RN in accordance with the plan of care, incorporating the individualized needs of the child and family into care.
  • Provide the RN with input on individualized, accurate assessment of developmental, cognitive, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, family influences, and physical/medical needs.
  • Reinforce understanding of treatment regime and ability to perform cares, providing ongoing education to patients and caregivers using an individualized approach in delivery style.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school or university as an LPN.
  • Minimum one year LPN experience required.
  • Experience with pediatric patients preferred.
  • Experience in the home care environment preferred.
Education and Certifications:
  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current and valid Nebraska LPN license/LPN Compact License Required.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association Required.
  • PEARS - Peds Emergency Assessment within 180 Days Required or PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support if incumbent holds another position within Children's where PALS is required.
