Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at The Sunny Vista Living Center. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, environmental services, security, and grounds functions within our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and assist direct reports in managing work assignments, ensuring compliance with established priorities, individual skills, work standards, and departmental needs.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of employees within the department, including hiring, orienting, training, supervising, scheduling, mentoring, and evaluating employees.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate and update departmental policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee projects, review and select bid proposals, and ensure quality of work performed and adherence to established project specifications.
  • Direct waste management procedures, including recycling and hazardous materials and infectious waste.
  • Serve as the community emergency preparedness controller, assisting in maintaining and practicing the Emergency Preparedness plan, including modifying and maintaining the community's Emergency Operations Protocols.
  • Responsible for encouraging, participating, and integrating resident-directed and centered initiatives by supporting successful aging and person-centered programs and culture.
  • Direct, develop, monitor, and comply with the annual building operations budget.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program in adherence to Organizational standards.
  • Plan and schedule staff training programs for maintenance and environmental services staff.
  • Attend all required training, in-service, and staff/community meetings.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some vocational course work in business or trades desirable; relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in the environmental services department of a healthcare, skilled nursing, or independent housing community preferred.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrable expertise in the practices, procedures, material, and equipment relevant to the department, including laundry and floor care, plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning, painting, and landscaping.
  • Must possess basic math skills and demonstrate proficiency with applicable software applications.
  • Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must possess a Colorado Motor Vehicle Record and Driver License in good standing, with reliable transportation.
