Job Description:

Performance Contracting is in search of a qualified Senior Construction Estimator to join our operations. This role will focus on estimating and selling work related to mechanical systems and architectural specialties. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting detailed quantitative takeoffs for construction projects.
  • Establishing labor productivity metrics for accurate estimates.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with local vendors to secure competitive pricing for materials and equipment.
  • Requesting pricing from subcontractors for tasks outside our self-perform capabilities.
  • Analyzing market conditions to determine competitive strategies, backlog, and risk levels for establishing margin percentages.
  • Participating in internal bid reviews alongside supervisors and project teams.
  • Contributing to customer alignment initiatives by fostering positive relationships with clients.
  • Assisting in the transition of secured projects to the Operations Team.
  • Supporting additional tasks as needed, such as change order management and billing processes.

Basic Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in estimating construction projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting specifications and drawings relevant to PCIs scopes of work.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong cost analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to accurately interpret schedules for sequencing and duration of applicable scopes of work.
  • Familiarity with computer takeoff and estimating software, such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quickbid.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience in estimating commercial construction projects is preferred.
  • Expertise in estimating mechanical systems or architectural specialty scopes is highly preferred.
  • OSHA certification(s) are advantageous.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
