Job Overview

This position involves specialized and accountable administrative functions within the Yellowstone County Election office. The role is pivotal in managing the election reporting system, ensuring compliance with ADA standards at polling locations, maintaining voting and tabulating equipment, and overseeing the recruitment, training, and certification of Election Judges. Additionally, the role supports the organization and execution of elections in accordance with state laws, including absentee, mail-in, and early voting initiatives. The position also assists in managing voter registration processes and securing grants for ADA compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of media communications, including updates and interviews related to the Election Management process;
  • Conduct testing and maintenance of voting machines to ensure accurate results on Election Day;
  • Recruit, train, and certify Election Judges;
  • Facilitate both in-person and online training sessions for Chief and Provisional Judges;
  • Organize and conduct training sessions for Polling Place Managers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Management, or a closely related field; OR
  • Four (4) years of experience in election administration, office management with public speaking, or other relevant occupational experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training totaling four (4) years.
Certifications:
  • Valid Driver's License issued by the State of Montana.
