Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our Physician Blood Draw Department at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for obtaining blood specimens, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to the appropriate caregiver.
Key Responsibilities- Properly identify patients per policy and perform venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods
- Label all specimens following laboratory policy
- Receive/cancel/orders and process laboratory/microbiology specimens
- Patient registration
- Flexibility to cover other sites when needed
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of phlebotomy program
- Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a blood draw station, ambulatory care or acute care setting
