Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our Physician Blood Draw Department at Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for obtaining blood specimens, processing laboratory specimens, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain blood specimens from patients using standard/butterfly methods
- Label and process laboratory specimens according to laboratory policy
- Receive, cancel, and process laboratory/microbiology specimens
- Ensure accurate and complete patient registration
- Flexibility to cover other sites as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of phlebotomy program
- National Phlebotomy Certification preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a blood draw station, ambulatory care, or acute care setting
- Knowledge of information systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
