About the Role

As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at the University of California, you will play a critical role in providing primary care to high-risk neonates and developing educational programs for families. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans for high-risk neonates, ensuring optimal health outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Lead patient care teams, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and direct research studies, focusing on innovative solutions for neonatal care.
  • Teach medical students and interns, mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license, California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license, and Furnishing License Certification.
  • National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area.
  • BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire date.
  • NRP certification.
  • Minimum two years of recent work experience as a licensed Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP).
  • Proven knowledge and skill in performing comprehensive neonatal assessments and general medical examinations.
  • Proficiency in documentation of patient conditions and outcomes.
  • Experience interacting positively, constructively, and effectively with staff, physicians, patients, and the general public.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of PCIS/Epic for retrieval of patient data.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a clinical research environment.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive annual salary range of $221,265, prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%. Additionally, our benefits package includes comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Work Location

Our primary work locations are UC San Diego Health's Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla and Hillcrest Medical Center. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
