Position Summary:
Labcorp is currently seeking a Lab Assistant to contribute to our operations in a dynamic, high-volume environment. This role is crucial in the realm of clinical laboratory science, ensuring the smooth processing of specimens.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 3am - 11:30am

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and categorize clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for subsequent testing and analysis
  • Perform scanning and data entry of specimen and patient details
  • Ensure proper functioning of lab equipment and conduct minor maintenance
  • Address any specimen-related challenges
  • Restock test bench supplies as necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Complete record logs and fulfill administrative tasks as required
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures to uphold safety and quality standards

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a medical/laboratory or production setting is preferred
  • Comfortable handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer skills and data entry proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail with the capability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turnaround times
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Capability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • Must successfully pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Willingness to work overtime as required
