Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining optimal staffing levels.
  • Promote a professional image of the company by maintaining cleanliness and adhering to uniform standards.
  • Ensure the highest quality of food and service by upholding consistent product standards.
  • Manage back-of-house food costs through strategic ordering, inventory management, and financial analysis.
  • Foster a safe working environment to minimize risks and accidents.
  • Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of kitchen staff; provide supervision and motivation, and recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Conduct ongoing training for employees to enhance skills and performance.
  • Lead by example, mentoring new team members and promoting a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; culinary arts certification or related degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrated confidence in culinary skills and abilities.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Capability to navigate the kitchen safely and efficiently.
  • Proficient in handling food and kitchen equipment safely.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel as required.
  • Adaptability to varying temperature conditions in the kitchen environment.
