Job Summary

Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care and education, as well as leading clinical initiatives to improve medication management and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered care, including medication therapy management, patient education, and counseling.
  • Lead clinical initiatives to improve medication safety, including medication use evaluations, adverse drug reaction reporting, and medication error prevention.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based clinical practices and policies.
  • Develop and maintain educational programs for pharmacy staff, residents, and students.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Pharmacist licensure in the state of Texas or eligibility for licensure within 90 days.
  • Successful completion of an ASHP-accredited post-graduate year one (PGY1) residency training program or three years of pharmacist experience applicable to the specific work setting.
  • One year of experience precepting pharmacist students and/or pharmacy residents.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification.
  • Intravenous (IV) certification (ACPE).
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and pharmacy information systems.
