Position Description:

We are seeking highly qualified researchers to join our team at RAND. As a researcher at RAND, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from policy analysis to program evaluation. You will be part of a collaborative team that produces high-quality research and analysis to inform policymakers and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis on a wide range of topics, including policy analysis, program evaluation, and social science research.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and analysts to produce high-quality research and analysis.
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports, briefs, and other products.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as social science, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to design and conduct studies, collect and analyze data, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and communicate complex research findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.

Experience:

We are seeking candidates with a strong background in research and analysis, as well as experience working with stakeholders and communicating complex research findings to non-technical audiences. Prior experience working in a research organization or government agency is a plus.

Location:

Positions are available in Santa Monica, CA; Pittsburgh, PA; Washington DC; or Boston, MA.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $262,500

Associate Researcher: $100,000 - $154,200

Full Researcher: $115,400 - $190,000

Senior Researcher: $152,700 - $262,500

Hiring ranges for Economists, Management Scientists and Physician Researchers are slightly higher than the ranges shown.

RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.

Successful candidates will be offered employment as an Associate, Full, or Senior researcher in a specific title, as determined by the candidate's education and experience. The salary range includes base pay plus RAND's sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken). In addition, RAND provides strong benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid time-off and more.
