Job Description

As a key member of our team at HMSA, we are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to join our organization. This role will play a critical part in shaping our business strategy and driving innovation through technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Influence our information strategy by partnering with business unit leadership and rationalizing the information value chain.
  • Promote the business value of Enterprise Architecture (EA) as an enabler of strategy formulation and support for technology innovation.
  • Facilitate business and IT alignment through collaborative, supportive, and consultative approaches.
  • Lead analysis of business and operating models, market trends, and technology industry to determine their potential impact on our business strategy.
  • Construct technology-enabled business and operating models and provide viable options and visibility into execution issues.
  • Provide perspective on the readiness of our organization to change and innovate.
  • Use planning-driven, design-driven, and learning-driven approaches to construct future- and current-state business models.
  • Assess disruptive forces impacting our organization and identify technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enable business strategy.
  • Track and apply innovative technologies, anchoring them in the business and operating model to assess their potential.
  • Provide consultative advice to business leaders and organizational stakeholders on actionable recommendations for investment decisions about the next business and operating model of our organization.
  • Lead and facilitate interaction with business leaders, product managers, and product owners in a business-driven conversation over the risks and implications of product decisions to the line of business, business unit, and greater enterprise.
  • Position the EA practice at the intersection of business and IT, ensuring it is designed and enabled to help formulate, translate, and execute business strategy.
  • Work with business leaders to identify key drivers and targeted business outcomes to derive useful business context.
  • Lead analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future (and current) IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement to drive the business forward.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and project teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.
  • Understand and keep up to date with technology trends to enable evolving business and operation models.
  • Identify and map governance activities required to support regulatory compliance and architecture assurance.
  • Ensure alignment of business roadmaps from current to future state technology roadmaps.
  • Maintain documentation of design and architecture analysis work.
