Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our Housing and Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine building and housing maintenance at our locations throughout New Jersey. This will include tasks such as light carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general cleaning, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, and safety assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete general maintenance duties, including painting, moving, and coordinating deliveries of furniture and assembly.
  • Perform maintenance and safety checklists to ensure a hazard-free environment and that vehicles and equipment are in good repair.
  • Coordinate or perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance, and equipment repairs.
  • Monitor electronic maintenance requests and manage requests in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with no more than two moving violations within the past three years.
  • Criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Physical examination, including tuberculosis screening.
  • Mandatory orientation and professional skills training at our agency headquarters in Somerset, New Jersey.
  • Basic computer skills and strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and cooperative teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet New Jersey Executive Order 252, which requires employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a booster.
