About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Renewable Operations Control Center to join our team at ENGIE. As a key member of our Renewables business unit, you will play a critical role in structuring, managing, coordinating, monitoring, and assessing the real-time operations of our renewable energy generation fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational philosophies and strategies to optimize renewable energy generation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, IT, Operations, and Asset Management, to ensure seamless integration and effective communication
  • Lead a team of experienced operators and supervisors to ensure stable and reliable operation of generation facilities
  • Identify and respond to plant and Bulk Electric System (BES) conditions, communicating and coordinating with other BES entities as needed
  • Dispatch field maintenance crews to investigate abnormal conditions and log actions, communications, and abnormal conditions for future review
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant trade education with a focus on power systems, regulatory and compliance, and controls
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Real-Time Operations (RTO) within the electricity or thermal sector, including generation, transmission, or distribution
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams, managing cross-functional projects, and handling switching and isolation in a leadership capacity
  • Working knowledge of power system operations concepts, including voltage control, automatic generation control, system operating limits, and practical knowledge of protection and controls such as relay schemes, automatic reclosing, and instrument transformers
  • Experience with Transmission System Operations (TSO) and compliance requirements
