Renewable Operations Control Specialist

Position Overview:
As a Renewable Operations Control Specialist at ENGIE, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the real-time management of ENGIE's renewable energy portfolio, which includes utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage facilities across North America. Under the guidance of the Operations Control Center Supervisor, you will work closely with various stakeholders, including Engineering, IT, and Operations, to ensure the efficient and reliable functioning of our generation assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily operational monitoring and maintain comprehensive logs of activities.
- Utilize CROW software for tracking performance and navigate through a tailored onboarding orientation.
- Ensure the dependable operation of ENGIE's renewable facilities by maintaining effective communication with on-site teams and Asset Managers.
- Coordinate and implement asset outages for maintenance activities.
- Assess and address any unusual operating conditions in collaboration with on-site staff.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- PJM Generation Dispatcher certification is required within the first year of employment.
- Genuine interest in expanding knowledge of wind and solar energy generation.
- Familiarity with power system technologies and equipment.
- Desire to learn about NERC Standards and control center operations.
- Ability to recognize and respond to conditions affecting plant and Bulk Electric System operations.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with Bulk Electric System entities.
Additional Details:
- Work involves rotating 12-hour shifts with potential travel requirements.
- Adherence to ENGIE's ethical standards and safety protocols is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SCADA systems is necessary.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $74,500 - $114,195 USD annually, with actual salary determined by experience, education, and other relevant factors.
