Job Title: Renewables Trade Control Manager

OPTIMUS (TX) is seeking a highly skilled Renewables Trade Control Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the company's Energy Management activities to ensure adherence to trading policies, limits, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily reports and analyze key metrics such as P&L, net position, and Value at Risk (VaR) for trading, finance, and management teams.
  • Develop and maintain energy risk management policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Verify trades, positions, and prices in the company's Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) system (Allegro Horizon).
  • Conduct daily and monthly reconciliation in collaboration with Front Office and Back Office teams.
  • Participate in development and implementation projects aimed at enhancing and automating internal controls, metrics, and technology systems.
  • Manage daily collateral postings with the ICE futures exchange and ISOs (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO).
  • Assist in the contracting and confirmation process for ISDA and EEI master agreements related to bilateral sales of power and Renewable Attributes (RECs, carbon offsets, etc.).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Economics, or a related quantitative or commercial field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commodity risk management, compliance, or trading.
  • Knowledge of US power or natural gas markets, with a preference for familiarity with renewables markets in ERCOT and CAISO.
  • Experience with ETRM systems such as Allegro Horizon, OpenLink, or Aligne.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced numerical and analytical skills to interpret and understand risk management metrics and reports.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive and collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
