Software Development Engineer, Secure Channel Systems Innovator

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our Secure Channel Systems team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing highly secure, scalable, and performant communication channels for diverse AWS offerings.
Your primary responsibility will be to implement robust encryption in transit mechanisms to protect customer data as it moves between AWS services. You will collaborate closely with SDEs, security teams, and program managers to identify and address complex security challenges.
As a Secure Channel Systems Software Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing and developing new secure channel solutions to optimizing and hardening existing ones to meet evolving compliance and regulatory requirements.
We are looking for a talented engineer who is passionate about building secure distributed systems and has a strong understanding of network security, cryptography, and secure communication protocols. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop highly secure, scalable, and performant communication channels and related software for diverse AWS service offerings
- Implement robust encryption in transit mechanisms to protect customer data as it moves between AWS services
- Collaborate cross-functionally with SDEs, security teams, and program managers to identify and address complex security challenges
- Continuously optimize and harden secure communication channels to meet evolving compliance and regulatory requirements
- Ensure seamless integration of secure channel solutions into the broader AWS ecosystem
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers to help them grow and develop their skills
- Maintain a strong customer focus, building solutions that are easy for teams to onboard and operate
- Leverage expertise in network security, cryptography, and secure communication protocols (e.g. TLS, QUIC) to drive innovative secure channel designs
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
