Position Overview

Under the general guidance of the Assistant Dean for MBA Student Affairs and the Senior Director of Student Life, the Senior Program Manager of Student Life, MBA Student Affairs plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing extracurricular and academic initiatives for a diverse cohort of over 700 full-time MBA students. This position is integral to advancing the objectives of the Full-Time MBA program.

The Senior Program Manager is tasked with the planning, execution, and assessment of student activities, ensuring adherence to institutional policies, procedures, and standards. In the absence of the Assistant Dean, this role also involves making critical decisions and representing MBA Student Affairs to both the administration and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Acting as an administrative liaison to student organizations and governance bodies.
  2. Facilitating internal and external communications for MBA Student Affairs.
  3. Providing comprehensive support and guidance to all full-time MBA students.
  4. Coordinating major MBA Student Affairs events, including orientations, workshops, and year-end celebrations.

Qualifications
  • Three to five years of experience in student affairs within a large academic institution (preferred).
  • Experience in website management and design (preferred).
  • Familiarity with university database systems (e.g., MyUCLA, SRS) (preferred).
  • Proficient in utilizing various social media platforms (required).
  • Strong conflict resolution and listening skills for effective interaction with students and faculty (required).
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and awareness to engage with a diverse student body (required).
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures related to student affairs (required).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment (required).
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear and effective information dissemination (required).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with high-level administrators and stakeholders (required).
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently (required).
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects (required).
  • Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals from various backgrounds (required).
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends (required).
