Position Overview:

Join us in making a significant impact as a Service Operations Leader supporting the United States Postal Service (USPS). At General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and advance your career in a dynamic environment.

As a Service Operations Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations while preparing for future advancements. Your expertise will be essential in supporting the Maintenance Technical Support Center, ensuring that USPS mail handling systems are effectively maintained and operational.

HOW A SERVICE OPERATIONS LEADER WILL CONTRIBUTE:
  • Oversees and directs field service operations within the organization.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for on-site installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mail handling systems.
  • Ensures that all field service initiatives are executed within budget and timelines to meet client expectations.
  • Utilizes extensive experience and judgment to set and achieve operational goals.
  • Exhibits a high degree of creativity and independence in decision-making.
  • Supervises both non-exempt and exempt personnel.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related discipline.
Required Experience:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills Required:
  • Proven experience in field support for electro-mechanical systems, optical character recognition (OCR), automated material handling, and broadband communication systems.
  • Experience with mail and package sorting equipment is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in managing field service operations.
  • Skilled in planning and developing policies and procedures for on-site installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mail handling systems.
  • Proven track record of ensuring that all field service projects are completed within budget and timelines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective leadership skills.
Security Clearance Level:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process.
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement.

Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $92,331 - $154,211, which may vary based on experience and location.
