Job Title: Distributor Sales Consultant

Job Summary:

The Distributor Sales Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in the beauty industry. This position requires a strong consultative selling approach, with a focus on expanding sales and building relationships with key accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and achieve assigned sales goals by utilizing manufacturer education and sales resources
  • Expand sales through opening new doors and selling approved beauty products
  • Identify key accounts within the territory and establish a route to grow and develop existing customers
  • Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and tracking results of all in-salon promotions, programs, and concepts
  • Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors
  • Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within that salon
  • Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals
  • Strictly comply with established procedures regarding the processing of returns
  • Work with all areas of business, including customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and other necessary business functions
  • Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling and other digital outlets
  • Effectively manage all administrative aspects of the role, including daily order entry and regular maintenance of customer information and activity
  • Conduct effective in-person and virtual product knowledge classes
  • Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow-up plans, and any assistance needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling
  • Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using digital platforms and social media to build pipelines, books of business, and other business needs
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle
  • Ability to build an online community and create social connections
  • This position requires travel on a local level within the territory and attendance at shows, conventions, and educational events
  • Strong time management and organization skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
