Key Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior RF Systems Engineer with a strong background in antennas and FISINT or ELINT Technical Collection Systems. This role is essential for supporting a classified mission in Northern Virginia.

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in Radio Frequency (RF) systems, including both far field and near-field antenna testing, as well as FISINT or ELINT Technical Collection Systems. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, along with a proactive approach to managing intricate technical projects.

Our diverse workforce delivers operational support for Systems Engineering/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations across multiple mission domains. Responsibilities encompass technical design, operational execution, and mission planning tailored to customer-specific needs throughout the project lifecycle.

The Senior RF Systems Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Performing cascade analysis of RF parameters such as noise figure and third-order intercept point (IP3).
  • Developing and overseeing RF Link budgets.
  • Evaluating the performance of various RF systems.
  • Formulating system requirements.
  • Implementing Systems Engineering processes and best practices.
  • Reviewing technical designs and system test plans.
  • Providing constructive feedback on designs.
  • Supporting program review processes.
  • Assessing readiness for engineering control gates.
Note: While primarily on-site during standard business hours, occasional travel (< 10%) to domestic government facilities may be necessary. No international travel is anticipated, though it may be required in certain circumstances.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Active/current TS/SCI clearance with an active Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field with 12+ years of relevant experience; a master's degree with 10+ years; or a PhD with 7+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in far field and near-field antenna testing.
  • Understanding of RF system requirements driven by customer needs.
  • Experience in creating and managing RF Link budgets.
  • Ability to assess the performance of various RF systems.
  • Knowledge of reflector antennas, phased arrays, and ultra wide-band antennas.
  • Experience in RF parameter analysis, including noise figure and IP3.
  • Familiarity with antenna/feed design, modeling, and testing.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or higher in engineering, science, or a technical field with 15+ years of experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in Systems Engineering.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as MATLAB and Python.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Prior involvement with technical collection systems within the Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Demonstrated skills in client management.
Salary Range:

The expected salary range for this position typically falls between $146,000 and $234,000, reflecting the candidate's experience and other relevant factors.
