Job Title: RF Communication Systems Engineer

The Aerospace Corporation is a leading provider of technical services to the space industry, and we are seeking a highly skilled RF Communication Systems Engineer to join our team. As a member of our Communications Technologies and Engineering Division, you will play a critical role in designing and developing cutting-edge space RF communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop space RF communication systems, including transmitters, receivers, modems, microwave components, and antennas.
  • Conduct risk assessments and trade studies to ensure the development of robust and resilient communication systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop communication architectures and system designs.
  • Develop and implement communication link budgets and perform constellation dynamic link modeling and simulation.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the areas of space communication payloads, navigation payloads, and telemetry, tracking, and commanding systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related discipline.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience in RF communication systems design and development.
  • Fundamental knowledge of satellite communication, radar, and/or position navigation and timing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess or pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related discipline.
  • Prior relevant internship experience in RF communication systems design and development.
  • Broad modeling and coding experience in multiple environments, including MATLAB, Python, SQL, and LATEX.
  • Knowledge in developing or implementing communications architectures, including satellite tracking, telemetry, and commanding systems.
