Job Overview

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is $75,000 - $85,000.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to perform the following tasks:

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Cost Accounting: Oversee cost accounting processes, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Account Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns, including sales and use tax.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, including profitability analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Process Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Month-End Close: Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Accounting Degree: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • GAAP Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
