Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. is recognized as the foremost independent, locally owned Emergency Medical Service provider in the Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana regions, as well as parts of Michigan and Ohio.

Role Summary
The Emergency Medical Services Lead Educator operates under the guidance of the Director of Education, focusing on the instruction of EMT courses. This role encompasses the planning, organization, and delivery of educational sessions, along with coordinating guest speakers and additional instructors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive instruction on all facets of the EMT curriculum, including theoretical and practical skill components.
  • Assist in the collection and maintenance of all necessary documentation, waivers, and physical assessments required by the EMT Program and its affiliates.
  • Ensure compliance with record-keeping mandates set forth by local EMS agencies, the State EMS Authority, and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
  • Maintain accurate records for the Continuing Education (CE) Program for EMTs.
  • Participate in inventory management, procurement, and receipt of supplies and equipment for the EMT Program.
  • Engage students in emergency preparedness drills and simulations.
  • Maintain regular office hours and contribute to departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Participate in the evaluation and enhancement of departmental and programmatic offerings.
  • Fulfill additional faculty responsibilities, including American Heart Association (AHA) and National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) course facilitation and orientation training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, with the flexibility to travel to the corporate headquarters as necessary.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A solid understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and related regulations.
  • Familiarity with company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • A flexible schedule to accommodate varying needs.
  • The ability to present information effectively to adult learners in a structured setting.
  • Proficiency in demonstrating the proper techniques for lifting, driving, and maintaining ambulances, as well as CPR and other essential responsibilities for EMTs and Paramedics.
  • A commitment to employee advocacy.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • State licensed Paramedic.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate and lead all aspects of the EMT/Paramedic role.
  • IL EMS Lead Instructor License.
  • CPR Instructor certification.
  • Preferred: ACLS/PALS certification; BTLS/PHTLS certification; HAZMAT Awareness certification; PEPP certification; GEMS certification.
