Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Marine Engineering Services is a critical role within SubCom, responsible for overseeing the cable and route engineering process from preliminary design to the end of the marine survey and into cable loading. This position ensures that contractual commitments are met, and survey contracts are executed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Survey Operations Management: Collaborate with Permitting/Regulatory, Marine Coordinators, and Fleet Operations personnel to manage SubCom's survey platform, the Ocean Surveyor, and third-party vessels.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee third-party vendors providing marine route survey services to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
  • Industrial Personnel Oversight: Manage industrial personnel aboard survey vessels and onshore to produce contracted deliverables.
  • Route Engineering: Work with Route Engineers to ensure the correct route, cable type, and cable protection method are employed, interacting with Offshore, Shore End Installation, and Submersibles groups.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple plans of work to minimize downtime and produce downstream deliverables, ensuring projects stay on schedule.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, Survey Data Collection, and CAD software, including Makai, ESRI, GeoMedia, and Global Mapper.
  • Survey Experience: Understanding of survey data collection software and hardware, survey vessel mobilization, and charting & mapping skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, technical writing, research, computer, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Marine Experience: Marine experience required, with willingness to travel via sea, air, and land.
