Position Overview

In collaboration with the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Specialist is responsible for executing essential environmental evaluations, assessments, and observations. This role involves analyzing findings and providing recommendations to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Environmental Manager in maintaining compliance and managing regulatory documentation for SPCC, SWPPP, Title V, PCMACT, and other environmental mandates.
  • Engage independently with environmental inspectors and senior plant management as directed by the Environmental Manager, demonstrating the ability to address follow-up actions from compliance evaluations.
  • Utilize analytical skills to independently identify, assess, and compile reports by applying principles of mathematics and physical sciences.
  • Conduct inspections and implement compliance initiatives across various locations autonomously.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and regulations.
  • Utilize appropriate safety gear while on site.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in the environmental sector or a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 2-4 years of experience in the field; 5 years is preferred.

Work Environment

  • Standard office setting.
  • Industrial plant environment.
  • Some travel may be necessary.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
  • Able to climb stairs.
