The role of Accounts Payable Specialist is integral to our operations, focusing on the meticulous processing of vendor invoices while adhering to established company protocols to guarantee accuracy and proper entry.
***This position requires in-person attendance during standard business hours.***
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute diverse accounts payable tasks, including the data entry of vendor invoices.
- Manage payables across multiple locations and vendors, ensuring timely payment processing.
- Handle a high volume of invoices through a 2-way matching process with purchase orders.
- Verify all invoices for necessary documentation and approvals prior to disbursement.
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain precise documentation in line with company policies and standard accounting practices.
- Engage with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to facilitate smooth operations.
- Assist with additional finance-related projects as required.
- Support other roles within the Finance/Accounting department as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume setting.
- Preferred: Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent business experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with web-based accounting systems and the waste management industry is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions with vendors and clients.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem-solving abilities, multitasking skills, organizational capabilities, and a keen attention to detail.
