Job SummaryWe are seeking a full-time bilingual Medical Assistant in Irving, TX to provide direct patient care in our outpatient clinical setting. As a Medical Assistant, you will support a positive patient experience by performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician or nurse manager.
Essential Functions- Maintains patient charts and ensures completeness and accuracy of patients' forms.
- Rooms patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history, and other information as required by the clinic.
- Communicates and documents any status updates and changes regarding patient and treatment plan.
- Keeps patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.
- Provides administrative support and performs routine clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Ensures exam rooms are prepared and stocked with adequate medical supplies and cleans rooms appropriately between patients.
- Responds to e-mails, telephone calls, and inquiries.
- Takes telephone messages and provides feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Assists team members and uses downtime efficiently.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
- Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
- Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures.
- Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols.
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.
- Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish.
High School diploma or its equivalent. Minimum 1-2 years in a medical office setting.
