Position Overview:

As a Financial Planning Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the Riverside Community College District's financial operations. This position involves assisting in the formulation, coordination, and management of the District's budget, ensuring accurate financial analysis and reporting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Vice Chancellor, Business & Financial Services in developing and maintaining the District's annual budget.
  • Conduct complex financial, statistical, and budgetary analyses to verify and maintain the integrity of the District's resources.
  • Prepare and present financial documents for review by the Board of Trustees.
  • Collaborate with grant program directors to establish and monitor grant budgets, ensuring compliance with contractual provisions.
  • Oversee the fiscal year-end closing process, including the reconciliation of revenue and expenditures.
  • Perform high-level problem-solving and forecasting related to financial data for various operational budgets.
  • Evaluate and process budget and expenditure transfers across the District.
  • Maintain the District's chart of accounts and ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field is required. Additional relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budget development, and reporting within an educational institution or similar environment is essential.


Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting systems.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
