As a Public Safety Officer, you will be responsible for providing emergency response services, enforcing laws and regulations, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for our citizens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency response services, including fire suppression, medical emergencies, and law enforcement.
- Enforce laws and regulations, including traffic laws, ordinances, and statutes.
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and process crime scenes.
- Provide traffic control and enforcement, including directing traffic and issuing citations.
- Perform first aid and medical services, including administering medical care and transporting patients.
- Respond to fire incidents, including extinguishing fires and providing rescue services.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including special events, community outreach, and training.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid Michigan driver's license.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen at the time of appointment.
- Associate's degree/60 credit hours minimum required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must be MCOLES certified/certifiable or MFFTC FF I & II certified.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must pass a pre-employment psychological exam.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must pass a firefighter physical agility test.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
