ROLE SUMMARY:


AMD is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Senior Technical Engineer – Program Management to become a vital part of our Network Technology Solutions Group (NTSG).

Our team promotes ongoing innovation and is dedicated to supporting your professional development.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:


You will play a crucial role in supporting our NTSG and will be part of the team responsible for preparing our hardware for production deployment.

This position presents an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Senior Technical Engineer – Yield Management/Failure Analysis who can effectively drive initiatives to successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in manufacturing, demand forecasting, and supply chain management, ideally within the high-tech hardware or semiconductor sectors.


PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of product lifecycle management and quality assurance processes essential during the development phase.
  • Collaborate with product, hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure that products fulfill performance, quality, and reliability standards set by our clients.
  • Lead and collaborate with internal ASIC, hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to gather and compile Root Cause Analysis (RCA) data.
  • Initiate a data collection repository. Validate logs, timelines, and operational sequences related to the technical root causes of failures.
  • Work alongside engineering and manufacturing teams to identify the root causes of failures in production and field settings. Implement corrective actions to address gaps in manufacturing processes, design standards, compliance, and management systems.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to provide regular updates on follow-up actions and customer inquiries.
  • Present findings during RCA reviews with the Leadership Team and share insights for future projects as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Over 8 years of experience in technical program management or failure analysis with a proven track record of delivering impactful results. A collaborative and problem-solving approach to engage with various stakeholder groups and external partners.
  • Proficient in conducting technical deep dives into ASIC, platform design, and verification processes.
  • Ability to extract and synthesize extensive, complex data from multiple sources and teams. Familiarity with root cause analysis, 5-why methodology, and root cause mapping techniques.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and listen with empathy. A demonstrated history of presenting and influencing key stakeholders and leadership teams to drive improvements and efficiencies on significant organizational matters.
  • Strong individual effectiveness skills such as discipline, time management, decision-making, planning, and organizing work, along with summarizing results through reports.
  • Capable of planning work and adhering to a plan while adapting as necessary in a rapidly changing environment.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
