Job Description

Inspiring a sales team to excel in customer engagement is a unique skill. While a motivated sales team comes with ambition, as a Retail Sales Supervisor, you will guide them in delivering an exceptional sales experience. Your enthusiasm for excellence will be contagious, and you will keep track of the store's performance metrics. You will oversee marketing and merchandising initiatives, from crafting sales strategies to expanding the customer base. Additionally, you will monitor competitive pricing trends to ensure optimal positioning.

Flexibility is key in retail schedules, so be prepared to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. You will report to the Store Manager and will assume some of their daily responsibilities in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to the aforementioned duties, here are some other responsibilities you will undertake as a Retail Sales Supervisor:
  • Support one of Cox's high-volume stores with significant customer traffic and transactions, indirectly managing a team of 5 to 13 sales representatives and sales operations specialists.
  • Translate performance objectives for the team and individual employees, setting weekly, monthly, and personal sales targets.
  • Drive store revenue by managing acquisition and retention initiatives, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and adjusting goals as necessary to meet store targets.
  • Provide continuous training and coaching for sales staff to ensure they meet sales performance objectives.
  • Facilitate weekly sales meetings to align sales associates with corporate initiatives, including customer and product strategies.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex sales and customer disputes.
  • Ensure staff is adequately trained by planning and executing training sessions, identifying development opportunities, and coordinating corporate learning initiatives.
  • Assist with troubleshooting customer technical issues and sales tool-related problems.
  • Evaluate local competitive offerings and pricing trends, escalating discrepancies to leadership.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all product knowledge and sales tools.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, developing, and scheduling sales staff.
  • Support daily cash reconciliation and weekly store audits as assigned.
  • Assist with inventory management to ensure alignment with corporate store design strategies.
  • Contribute to operational expenses and cost optimization efforts (headcount, inventory budget, workforce management, and other store expenses).

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a related field. Alternatively, a combination of any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience or 5 years of experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of management or leadership experience (preferably in Wireless, Telecommunications, and/or Retail Sales).
  • Previous experience with store operational duties.
  • Experience selling Wireless/Mobile products is highly preferred.
  • Ability to motivate and coach staff to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of how to run a successful store.
  • Ability to be mobile in-store for extended periods to assist with customer interactions and product demonstrations.
  • Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment; able to prioritize and adjust approach based on current conditions.
  • Computer literacy with an aptitude for learning communication products, services, and accessories.
  • Ability to lift 25-50 pounds to assist with stock room inventory management.
  • Fluency in Spanish, both written and spoken.
