Job Overview

Position Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Specialist

The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Specialist, commonly referred to as an E&I Technician, plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of all electrical systems, electronics, and instrumentation within the facility. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing issues with electric motors, and various instrumentation utilized in machinery, such as control valves, flow sensors, and photo-eyes. Additionally, you will handle motor controls and pneumatic systems. While the mechanical team will address major mechanical repairs, you will be expected to perform minor mechanical tasks, such as replacing a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) or a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The automation team will provide support for significant PLC programming and troubleshooting as necessary.

Work Schedule: The position involves a rotating 6-week schedule, averaging 10 hours per week.

  • Week 1: 7 days (7a-3p)
  • Week 2: 5 days M-F (7a-3p)
  • Week 3: 5 days M-F (7a-3p)
  • Week 4: 7 days Sat-Fri (3p-11p)
  • Week 5: 5 days Tue-F (Monday optional) (7a-3p)
  • Week 6: 5 days M-F (7a-3p)

Shifts will be organized and communicated with at least one week's notice. All E&I technicians have the opportunity to volunteer for the available shifts. If any shift remains unclaimed, it will be assigned to the technician with the least total hours worked. Unforeseen hours may arise where you may need to extend your shift to complete ongoing tasks, as is standard in the industry.

Essential Skills
  • Experience with 3-phase, high-voltage industrial electrical systems
  • Knowledge of process control
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems
  • Proficiency in electric motors and motor control systems
  • Capability in instrumentation calibration and repairs

Employment Type: This is a permanent role.
