Job Overview

Position Summary: We are looking for a qualified and meticulous Automotive Technician to enhance our operations. The successful candidate will possess expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing vehicles to guarantee they operate at peak performance. Responsibilities will include conducting routine maintenance, resolving mechanical problems, and delivering outstanding service to our clientele.

Primary Duties:

  • Diagnostic Evaluation: Employ diagnostic instruments and methodologies to pinpoint and resolve mechanical and electrical complications in vehicles.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other essential systems. Carry out regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid inspections.
  • Component Replacement: Substitute or mend faulty components, including engines, transmissions, and other mechanical parts.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to clarify issues, repair alternatives, and estimated expenses. Provide exceptional customer service and address any inquiries or concerns.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive documentation of services rendered, parts utilized, and time allocated to each task. Ensure precise records for warranty purposes and client files.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety guidelines to maintain a secure working environment. Keep the workspace tidy and organized.
  • Professional Development: Remain informed about the latest advancements in automotive technology and repair methodologies. Participate in ongoing training and skill enhancement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a recognized automotive repair program is preferred.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience as an automotive technician or in a comparable position. Familiarity with various vehicle makes and models is beneficial.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Capability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Certifications: ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is highly desirable. Additional relevant certifications or licenses may be necessary based on location and job specifications.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities. Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.

Work Environment:

  • Work may take place in a shop setting with exposure to varying noise levels and temperatures.
  • Physical demands include the ability to lift heavy items, kneel, bend, and stand for prolonged periods.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, may be necessary.
