The Providence Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Professional Development and Leadership to join our team. This is a critical role that will oversee the development and implementation of professional learning programs, evaluation systems, and leadership development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the management of new teacher and leader induction programming and supports
  • Develop and implement training and resources for educators on professional development, evaluation, and leadership
  • Manage the District's certification reimbursement program and oversee the state licensure requirements
  • Develop and implement evaluation systems and support tools, ensuring compliance with state law
  • Provide training and resources for all evaluation systems and monitor their implementation with integrity
  • Support professional development for PPSD leaders, providing training in supervision and evaluation
  • Work with HR and legal staff to develop long-term plans for supervising and evaluating employees
  • Develop tools and resources to enable better employee supervision and evaluation

Providence Public Schools serves approximately 22,000 students attending our 37 schools. We employ over 3,200 professionals who work in and provide support to our schools. Requirements
  • Masters degree required
  • Experience in large, urban district preferred
  • Experience as a school leader and evaluator preferred
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables, and navigate through ambiguity
  • Sound planning and resource management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Self-starter who requires a minimum level of supervisory oversight
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrated commitment to urban K-12 education
