Job Title: Assistant Chief Information Officer

At Rhode Island College, we are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join our Information Technology Services (ITS) department as an Assistant Chief Information Officer. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of our IT strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer and ITS leadership team to develop and execute strategic plans for IT services.
  • Lead the identification and development of project management office (PMO) roles and team configurations to deliver agreed-upon goals and objectives.
  • Develop and lead an agile practice, implementing systems, processes, and ways of working to sustain a high-performing team.
  • Accountable for building and maintaining agile-at-scale competency and talent strategy at the ITS level.
  • Participate in the leadership of the ITS department, leading and developing a team of high-performing staff and team leaders.
  • Instill a learning culture and facilitate continuous improvement for college information technologies.
  • Assess portfolio performance, using metrics and reporting, and track and communicate key ITS metrics.
Requirements:
  • Eight years of experience in information technology, with five years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Master's degree in CS, CIS, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a supervisory information technology role in higher education at the director level or above.
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams in an agile environment.
  • Strong business acumen, including knowledge of higher education and its business units.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic resource plan.
  • Relevant certifications, such as ITIL, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma.
