Business Development Manager, Laboratory Systems

About the Position:

A seasoned professional with wide-ranging experience in sales and business development is sought for the role of Laboratory Systems Consultant at Roche Holdings Inc.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for dealing with diverse and complex issues, exercising judgment in evaluating methods and determining criteria for obtaining solutions.

Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including senior personnel and key contacts, will be a crucial aspect of this role.

Responsibilities will include networking with senior personnel, implementing sales plans, and managing key partner relationships.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for executing IT strategies, working in coordination with Account Executives to conduct product demonstrations, and developing and presenting comprehensive financial proposals and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides expert technical advice to support pre and/or post sales activities.
  • Provides technical expertise through sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Assists the sales and/or field staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs.
  • Prepares detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications and/or solutions.
  • Provides consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.
  • Provides follow-up support to sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant sales or equivalent experience, ideally in a pre-sales or support position.
  • Autonomous and organized with effective communication skills, listening, verbal and written.
  • Experience with presenting technical information to both external and internal audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of technical and market issues/factors, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities for a sales region, negotiation, contracting, and problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a regulated environment.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of technical and market issues/factors.
  • Ability to travel 4 weekdays per week.
