Overview:
The Customer Support Business Group at Lam Research is dedicated to providing exceptional support to our clients throughout their engagement with our products.

Role Impact:
As a Field Process Engineer, you will serve as a key resource for our customers, leveraging your expertise to enhance their operational efficiency and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver process support and installation services, enhancing system productivity and resolving operational challenges at customer sites.
- Act as a primary field liaison for Beta sites and initial installations, ensuring seamless integration of our technologies.
- Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and generate insightful reports to optimize device architecture and process modules.
- Collaborate with clients to meet their technological needs, support existing processes, and conduct thorough root cause analyses for any deviations.

Process Development:
- Innovate and refine processes, establish best practices, and work closely with hardware engineering to define requirements and characterize designs that meet client expectations.

Collaboration:
- Work in tandem with cross-functional teams to grasp customer needs, technology trajectories, and business challenges, ensuring a holistic approach to solutions.

Customer Engagement:
- Represent Lam Research with professionalism, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and relationship management.

Technical Leadership:
- Provide guidance and support to Field Service Engineers and Technicians, facilitating the application of new procedures and addressing complex challenges impacting process output.

Continuous Improvement:
- Lead statistical analyses of failure rates and develop plans for continuous improvement, recommending design modifications and monitoring performance trends.

Qualifications:
- PhD in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 8+ years; or a Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience.
- Proven ability to navigate complex issues requiring in-depth analysis and sound judgment in engineering methodologies.

Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
