POSITION SUMMARY
ASM International is in search of a skilled Etch Process Engineer to enhance our engineering team.

The Senior Process Engineer will collaborate with various engineering and manufacturing departments to ensure that effective manufacturing processes are developed and upheld.

This role will deliver process engineering assistance for both current and new products, focusing on process troubleshooting, yield enhancement, process oversight, and cost efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
1. Research and refinement of dry etch processes for oxide and silicon in a semiconductor fabrication environment.
2. Establishment of Statistical Process Control (SPC) measures utilizing Design of Experiments (DOE) and other statistical methodologies to minimize process variability.
3. Management of non-conforming materials, addressing process deviations or human errors, diagnosing issues, and implementing preventive measures effectively.
4. Drafting specifications for processes and operations, qualification protocols, weekly reports, and documentation related to scrap and rework.
5. Enhancing the operational performance in terms of cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
Master's Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
5+ years of experience in semiconductor etching is highly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Practical experience with Applied Materials, Lam, and TEL etching equipment.
- Research and development experience in trench etching of silicon, poly, and oxide for silicon power devices.
- Familiarity with wet etching and cleaning processes.
- Proficient in statistical data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Proven ownership and commitment to achieving success.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals and teams.
- Demonstrated initiative in problem-solving within the work environment.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RS1, Minitab; additional computer skills are advantageous.
