Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Associate to join our team at PepsiCo. As a Quality Control Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our raw materials and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Retrieve and log raw material samples in our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Perform raw material testing and disposition prior to use in production, adhering to established turnaround times.
  • Test and approve batches of raw materials.
  • Calibrate and validate laboratory equipment daily and weekly, following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) standards.
  • Log new reagents and solutions, record and dispose of expired reagents, and create and maintain fresh solutions and reagents.
  • Oversee the tracking and receipt of control samples for innovation projects and caramel monitoring testing.
  • Dispose of sample retains and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
  • Oversee inventory of necessary consumables to avoid shortages.
  • Participate in proficiency testing to maintain proficient status in raw material testing.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a clear commitment to personal safety, process safety, and food safety.
  • Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), FSSC 22000, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Plant Safety Policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining and complying with all applicable PepsiCo, Federal, State, and local regulations and standards.
  • Authority to immediately address safety risks.
  • Ability to cross-train and assist as a backup for other analyses when needed.
  • Participate in Quality laboratory and department meetings.
  • Participate in corrective actions and root cause analysis regarding nonconformances related to raw material/vendor issues in the Quality Management System (QMS) portal.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of analytical testing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • BS in Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Analytical testing experience is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) is required.
  • Experience using SAP is preferred.
  • Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is preferred.

  • Strong communicator across various channels.
  • Works effectively independently as well as part of a team.
  • This is a mid-day shift that requires flexibility to cover day and night shifts when analysts are out.
