Our Rise talent development framework focuses on reaching, identifying, strengthening, and engaging our workforce to foster their ongoing growth. As a global organization, we thrive on collaboration, problem-solving, and innovation, creating solutions that make a significant impact.

This role is associated with WM Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of SPX Enterprises, LLC, recognized for manufacturing and marketing Weil-McLain branded offerings. Since 1881, Weil-McLain has been a premier North American brand in hydronic comfort heating systems for various building types.

Your Role and Impact (Position Overview)

At SPX, we are a diverse collective of individuals who contribute meaningfully. As a Senior Supply Chain Strategist, you will oversee and enhance the comprehensive supply chain operations to ensure effectiveness, cost-efficiency, and alignment with corporate objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning, supplier relationship enhancement, logistics refinement, and ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at boosting overall supply chain efficacy.

Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)

Every day at SPX presents new possibilities, but your primary duties will include:
  1. Strategic Development:
  • Formulate and execute strategic supply chain initiatives that align with organizational goals, factoring in demand forecasting, inventory oversight, and production timelines.
  • Evaluate market dynamics, industry standards, and emerging technologies to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing supply chain efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Proactively recognize and address supply chain vulnerabilities, including supply interruptions, geopolitical influences, regulatory shifts, and economic fluctuations.
  • Create contingency frameworks and resilience strategies to ensure operational continuity and mitigate the effects of potential disruptions.
  1. Supplier Relations:
  • Collaborate with Sourcing to optimize and strengthen partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Implement supplier VMI and other value-added initiatives.
  • Assess supplier performance and adherence to contractual commitments, taking corrective measures as needed to manage risks and uphold quality standards.
  1. Logistics and Inventory Oversight:
  • Develop inventory strategies that balance product availability with cost-effectiveness, minimizing surplus while ensuring sufficient stock levels to meet client demands.
  • Facilitate inventory optimization methods such as demand forecasting, safety stock evaluation, and inventory replenishment planning.
  • Enhance transportation, warehousing, and distribution systems to reduce lead times, lower costs, and elevate service quality.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to optimize freight management, routing, and carrier selection, leveraging technological solutions where applicable.
  1. Process Enhancement:
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within the supply chain, applying lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, or other continuous improvement tools to drive operational excellence.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to streamline operations, eliminate inefficiencies, and optimize resource utilization across the supply chain.
  • Engage in assigned projects that align with departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications (What We Seek)

We each bring unique strengths, and we are looking for a candidate who possesses:

Essential Experience
  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in supply chain management, emphasizing strategic planning, supplier relations, and logistics and inventory optimization.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret data, conduct root cause analysis, and generate actionable insights.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to cultivate effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and technology platforms, including ERP systems, demand planning tools, and transportation management systems.
  • Project management expertise, with the capacity to lead cross-functional teams and achieve results in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards pertinent to supply chain operations.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is advantageous.
