We are currently in search of a RF Payload Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a government Intelligence Community (IC) client. This role involves supporting complex space and ground initiatives as part of a diverse portfolio of programs.

The RF Payload Systems Engineer will collaborate with the System Program Office (SPO) in a technical role focused on the planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of RF payload systems development and acquisitions. This work is crucial for enhancing the National Reconnaissance Office's (NRO) space resilience capabilities. The engineer will operate both independently and as part of a high-performing team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) dedicated to supporting the entire lifecycle of systems engineering and management processes to achieve desired outcomes and meet program goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the design and development of RF payload systems and components, including signal processing units.
  • Applying intricate RF specifications, tolerances, simulations, and testing procedures for RF payload systems and components.
  • Assisting the Government in formulating concepts of operations (CONOPS) and strategies for RF systems deployment.
  • Ensuring that research and development (R&D) initiatives are planned and executed based on sound engineering principles, including the management of technical risks.
  • Providing technical support for Government customer activities and programmatic processes.
  • Creating documents and presentations to communicate project or study status, briefing Government and industry stakeholders as necessary.
  • Developing RF payload performance models to inform Government systems engineering trade-offs.
  • Supporting Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and Developers by collaborating with other technical domain SMEs and program stakeholders to achieve a comprehensive understanding of flight systems, designs, and interfaces essential for fulfilling mission requirements.
  • Overseeing acquisitions with a specific emphasis on RF payload systems elements, functionality, interfaces, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and operations to ensure comprehensive system closure and mission satisfaction.
  • Reviewing Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to verify content, technical accuracy, and adequacy of design details to meet program specifications and objectives.
  • Participating in technical interchange meetings between developers and COTRs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in RADAR system operations, waveform utilization, and processing.
  • Expertise in RF systems design, specifications, development, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • Experience utilizing systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and program roles to develop, implement, and deploy solutions for Satellite Systems.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly.
  • U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite for this position.
