Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled SharePoint and Systems Solutions Engineer to support our operations. This role involves providing essential hardware and operational assistance across VMWare server environments and our internal cloud platform, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver hardware and operational support across VMWare server and virtual networking domains.
  • Participate in internal initiatives aimed at scaling the environment and implementing best practices for operational support.
  • Ensure system availability for the VMWare platform using vRealize Operations Manager and LogInsight for monitoring and reporting.
  • Design and deploy enterprise-class SAN solutions and backup infrastructures, with a focus on Data-at-Rest, utilizing tools such as HPE Simplivity and CommVault.
  • Troubleshoot backup failures and respond to client requests to maintain the health of the data protection infrastructure.
  • Assist Service Operations teams in diagnosing and resolving complex performance and security challenges.
  • Provide guidance to junior systems engineers and collaborate with technical personnel to resolve operational issues.
  • Support IT Systems Engineering across various technologies, including Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, and more.
  • Engage in project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases for integration within production IT environments.
  • Participate in technology evaluations and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain security applications, ensuring the protection of organizational data and infrastructure.
  • Adhere to Change Management and Problem Management policies, familiarizing yourself with ITIL or similar frameworks.
  • Maintain system baselines and configuration management items, including security event monitoring policies.
  • Identify and evaluate the costs and benefits of security functions to inform engineering decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 7+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • 5+ years as an enterprise systems administrator in a client or server environment.
  • DoD 8570 Certification required (IAT Level II required / IAT Level III desired).
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows-based systems, including hardware, software, networking, and storage.
  • Willingness to work outside normal hours as needed.

Preferred Expertise:

  • Advanced knowledge of SharePoint architecture and administration.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online and customization using PowerShell and SPFx.
  • Strong SQL Server administration skills, including performance tuning and backup practices.
  • Experience in designing scalable IT infrastructure and managing Windows Server environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to create comprehensive technical documentation.

Security Clearance Requirements:
Active TS with SCI clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years. Candidates must be open to CI poly.
