Job Summary:

The Director of Emergency Services assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for nursing care in the emergency department. This role requires a strong understanding of professional nursing theory and practice, leadership in administration, and effective communication with medical staff and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support to charge nurse staff, clinical educators, and clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, programs, and services consistent with the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and outcomes.
  • Maintain unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with policy requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related experience, including clinical expertise as an emergency department RN and recent management of a growing ER and Urgent Care.
