Job Summary:
The Assistant Field Coordinator in the College of Social Work at The Ohio State University plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of student field placements. This position is responsible for scheduling meetings with students and field agencies, assisting with liaison activities, and tracking student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the placements of Social Work students, scheduling meetings with students and field agencies, and performing follow-up activities.
- Teach two sections of SWK 4188 AU24 and SP25, providing academic instruction and guidance to students.
- Coordinate activities between student field practicum agencies and students, including virtual site visits, monitoring progress, and ensuring the quality of the field practicum experience.
- Utilize the field database to update student progress during the academic year, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Attend meetings as required, representing the College of Social Work and collaborating with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Master's Level Degree with a Major in Social Work or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of relevant experience required, with a strong background in social work and field education.
- Driver's license, vehicle, and ability to travel required, with a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred, with a strong track record of success in field education and student placement.
- Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, desired, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and writing skills, planning, and organizational skills desired, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and field agencies.
