Mechanical Engineer II Job Description

Core Group Resources Careers is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer II to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in developing, integrating, and testing completed designs. Your expertise will be essential in assisting with analysis and design tasks within schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze fuel, HVAC, steering, hydraulic, and propulsion systems to determine size requirements, power requirements, performance curves, and associated losses.
  • Perform hand calculations and FEA on structural components/assemblies to verify working stresses.
  • Establish functional and acceptance test plans for system designs.
  • Partner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.
  • Develop engineering deliverables in accordance with engineering processes, ensuring safe, fit for purpose engineering deliverables, and presenting material associated with the above life-cycle reviews.
  • Partner with Weight Manager to monitor and control the weight of the systems to meet design targets.
  • Create and review of Engineering Change Notifications to formally release design data.
  • System life-cycle activities – including System Requirements Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Detailed/Critical Design Review (DDR/CDR).
  • Release drawings into Product Life Cycle Management system following company workflow.
  • Create engineering reports to show compliance with project requirements based on design, test, analysis, and similarity.
  • Partner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.
Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of product design/engineering experience in an engineering environment and demonstrated skills in the design of moderately complex fabricated and machined parts and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of operation, principles, and practices of engineering drafting and computer programs with intermediate skills in SolidWorks, PRO-E, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Inventor software programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding techniques, machine tools, cutting tools, and machining process.
