Core Group Resources is a leading recruitment company with expertise in the marine offshore market, finance, IT, renewables, and non-profit sectors. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our team and contribute to the development, integration, and testing of completed designs.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze fuel, HVAC, steering, hydraulic, and propulsion systems to determine size requirements, power requirements, performance curves, and associated losses.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA on structural components/assemblies to verify working stresses.
- Establish functional and acceptance test plans for system designs.
- Partner with quality to troubleshoot installation issues, determine root cause, and recommend solutions.
- Develop engineering deliverables in accordance with engineering processes, ensuring safe, fit-for-purpose engineering deliverables.
- Partner with Weight Manager to monitor and control the weight of the systems to meet design targets.
- Create and review of Engineering Change Notifications to formally release design data.
- System life-cycle activities, including System Requirements Review (SRR), System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Detailed/Critical Design Review (DDR/CDR).
- Release drawings into Product Life Cycle Management system following company workflow.
- Create engineering reports to show compliance with project requirements based on design, test, analysis, and similarity.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent.
- 5 years of product design/engineering experience in an engineering environment and demonstrated skills in the design of moderately complex fabricated and machined parts and assemblies.
- Knowledge of operation, principles, and practices of engineering drafting and computer programs with intermediate skills in SolidWorks, PRO-E, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Inventor software programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding techniques, machine tools, cutting tools, and machining process.
