Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Sentara Medical Group. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient care and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, clinical procedures, and clerical duties.
  • Work directly with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical charts.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience and electronic medical records experience preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or certified EMT (EMT-B, AEMT, or Paramedic) required.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
