We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Technician at Ameresco. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and technical expertise to oversee the safe and effective operation and maintenance of our energy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct site operations and maintenance personnel, ensuring daily work direction, scheduling, and performance appraisals are completed efficiently.
- Oversight of all operations and maintenance activities, including planning and scheduling, to safely and economically operate, service, repair, and overhaul plant equipment.
- Procure necessary materials and stock required inventory to support operations.
- Oversee contractors to ensure performance, safety, and environmental requirements are met.
- Prepare reports, work orders, and other documents in accordance with Ameresco's contracts and customer requirements.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial, utility, or marine-based energy equipment operations and maintenance, including boilers, steam supply systems, air conditioning equipment, pumps, control valves, instrumentation, controllers, electrical equipment, and lighting systems.
- Additional education may be substituted for years of related experience. Supervisory experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including effective coaching and mentoring.
- Extensive knowledge of electric power plant operations and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental laws and regulations affecting plant operations and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of appropriate policy, procedures, work practices, and labor/union agreements and negotiation.
- Working knowledge of budget preparation and administration.
- Demonstrated decision-making skills.
- Proficient in PC, Internet, and related software application skills.
- Flexibility to work extended hours to support ongoing operations and maintenance activities.
